The Gaits of land allocated by the Pasture

Master allowed the local farmers to graze

their livestock whilst locating them to a

particular part of the landscape.

The metal hoop and band on each

Way Post is designed to resemble

an animal tethering post, and stands

as a metaphor for the location of an

animal to a particular section of land

.

Map contour lines carved into the side of one

of the five `WOLDS` posts in Millington Dale.

Deeper set marks, carved into one of the two posts at Thieves Sty, mimic the facing horizon line.
